IMO scotch is an acquired taste. You have to consciously decide that you’re going to try to like it. It takes time. I’ve never met anyone who liked the stuff the first time they drank it. You have to force yourself to appreciate it’s taste. But once you do, you’ll be hooked for life.

For all the COSTCO members out there: for less than $40 you can get either the Balvanie 12 year double barrel our the Macallen 10 year. Both of these are single malt scotch. I personally keep both at home as the "B" is cripst and clean and the "M" is peaty and woodsy.
