Hi everybody. I've been lurking here for one whole day (well, one whole slow day at work, and it's been a week from hell) and it appears that the folks here are a helpfull, laid back crowd. This looks like a cool place to hang.
I started smoking cigars last summer. A R&J Bully, a La Gloria Cubana Wavell...alright, they're OK.
Then, at a hoity-toity social function I was offered an eye-ess-oh-em. A Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro.
OK! NOW I SEE!
While I've only had a couple of Cubans since then, I've begun to appreciate the abundance of fantastic flavors that are more readily available to us gringos, and the anticipation and sheer joy of lighting up and kicking back and savoring these babies. I can't wax eloquent about the finer points of cigars yet (and I may never be able to) but I am certainly into and thoroughly enjoying this new favorite passtime of mine.
I'm a music lover and musician, and I used to spend any spare dough on CD's.
Guess where that money's going now.
My oldest best buddy actually manages a couple of CIGAR STORES!!! We (I) now have a very good excuse to be keeping in touch after all these years of marriage and family raising and all that other good stuff. It's a good thing he's a bit of a distance away, 'cause familiarity might breed contempt.
Hope that don't happen here.
So many cigars...so little time.
