I think I once heard that bad things happen in groups of 3 or it could have been 4. Anyway, if it is 4 then I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Over the last couple of weeks it seems that I have been hit with a string of bad news or bad things. First, I found out my 6year old son has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Though not life threatening, it was a HUGE emotional blow to the wife and I. I feel guilt for not realizing it sooner, but am glad that it was discovered. It will be a long tough road that we are just taking the beginning steps onto. If anyone has any resources or suggestions, please PM or email them to me.
Second thing was the declining health of my wife's mother. She has Alzheimer's and has taken a serious decline over the last couple of weeks. My wife will be quitting her job to be a full time caregiver for her. She will also be moving in with us since she can no longer live alone. The reduction in income and having to take on another person will be extremely rough on our entire family (and put a huge dent in my cigar budget) I'm hoping that this and the added attention that my son will require wont drive my wife insane, because you married guys know "If mama ain't happy, no one is happy" Again, any information would be helpful.
Well now comes the topper. In the round of rain and wind we had last night, the 40ft tall pine tree in my back yard lost a HUGE limb which took out the roof to my office/dad room/ man cave. The place that I had my laptop, digital cameras, guns, and most importantly...... my humidors. The only things that weren't beyond reprieve were my guns and the shitty Thompson bundles that I had stashed in a small cooler in the closet. I think the humidors might be salvageable, but the contents aren't. They are badly scratched, will need new hinges, and are soaked to the bone. Any idea if I can salvage them? Main thing is, no one was hurt. Just my feelings.
Hopefully my insurance company will be snappy in getting my claim processed so I can get everything back to normal. I was going to be giving the room up for my mother-in-law, but I wanted one last "Man Day" in it.
I would appreciate it if you guys would keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. God knows I need some.
Thanks for listening.
