Is it because I'm a newb?

DC# 0307 3330 0001 2985 2992. Well newb, if they make you puke, like my 20yr old, it ain't my fault.

Doc.

I think you should just keep on trying new sticks. Keep smoking what you like, but don't be afraid to, after time, go back to ones that you didn't like originally to see if they taste any better or different to you.

CAO gets a lot of crap from boards like these but I have to tell you I don't know if I've smoked one I haven't liked... and oddly enough the one I liked the least was probably the only one that seems to get rave reviews from here, and that's the Brazilia. It was okay, but a little strong for me. With that being said, I have smoked a short story and absolutely LOVED it. Thanks to the generosity of this board I was able to try an Opus, and I also loved that too. So go figure... it isn't that I like "medium" or "full bodied" or "mild"... it's that right now I like different strengths of different brands.

You mentioned one of my all time favorite every-day type of smokes, the Punch Rare Corojo. This is one of the most under rated cigars I think, and every time I light one up I'm reminded of how much I love them. But I think those who like the maduro and the full-bodies smokes won't get much from it.

I've been smoking a little less than a year, and I've noticed already my tastes (or opinions?) changing with cigars. When I first started I thought the CAO Gold was the best I've had. I had another one a couple weeks ago and thought there was very little flavor... just kinda bland but not bad tasting. I take that to mean that the more brands and vitolas and flavors I can sample, the more my tastes WILL adjust or at least I'll have more of a reference point when I try something I haven't tried before.

As for the Anejo's... I was at a B&M tonight, picked up a red label Tatuaje (never tried one before) and I saw some Anejos in a glass case on the counter (another one I've never tried). He wanted $16.00 a piece.. I just couldn't bring myself to do it! But I will find one someday that won't cost me an arm and a leg!

I enjoy Fuentes and have ventured into some of the more pricey ones since being a member here. I have smoked a few Opus and a God of Fire or two. I even tried a DC Annie. I do like the Opus now and the Anejo shark. But I still love Padron and Camacho.

Wow, Doc, you are a generous man. I'll letcha know my findings.

Thanks so much, and thanks to all of you who offered to enlighten this newb.
