This is something that surprized me. It seems that it is not only goods, like cigars, we cannot buy from Cuba. From this article it seems that we cannot have any business dealings with the Cubans. Hilton Hotel is afraid of what OFAC can do to them via the new crackdown by Bush since 2003. The Long Arm of OFAC

That's insane!

What about when a delegation from Cuba comes to the U.N. in N.Y., are they going to go after a restaurant that the Cubans go to?

So does that mean if a Cuban goes to Mexico and wants to eat, he can't eat at McDonald's (hypothetically speaking of course)? Is it me, or is something seriously wrong with the picture? I thought a capitalist country such as the U.S. would want to encourage big business to do big business.

edit: Interesting information about the closing down of banks and the abandoned U.S. dollar in transactions with all things Cuban, it seems like the U.S. wants to wage a world wide economical war. I guess every country has its own form of terrorism.

On a side note, how would this affect the non-Cuban cigars that use first generation Cuban tobacco seeds?

Magg. I agree with you.

The exception is they need to visit Florida first, I believe.

The latest CA talks alot about this stuff with Cuba, ie. the US exports some stuff to Cuba (making money) but won't import. Also, technically, when you are in another country, it is still illegal for you to buy cuban stuff, even though you are not in america.
