It's my opinion...

well now, if my opinion is not valid then it stands to reason that nobody elses is either. Because otherwise we are assuming that someone else is more valid than I. This really does start to sound like classic Elitism. Isn't that something we have fought 2004 years + to get rid of? :p
 
Maybe millions of years, the dinosaurs were elite then they were stinkd. Just like my post paddin' right now, it stinks. . . .

The modicum is all that is required before one hops up on a soap box and starts talking isn't it? If that were not so, then Political campagnes would be doomed from the start. Churches would have no ministers, and I myself would be forced to STFU :angry:

That's assuming that all opinions are equal; they aren't. Some are more informed/enlightened than others. While that may sound elitist, it's also true.

Take a crack addict off the street who has never smoked a cigar, and ask him, in his opinion, what the best cigar on the market is for $10. Then take a cigar aficionado who has been smoking for 20+ years, and ask him the same question. Two opinions; but they do not have the same merit, IMHO.

(note that this has nothing to do with your particular opinion, whatever that may be, PB, just generally speaking)

The validity of your right to HAVE an opinion is unquestionable, but the validity of the opinion it's self is more likely then not questionable. :thumbs: :D :D

Who has been fighting for 2004 years? Who was fighting for it in year 1? Were the Romans fighting this fight with Ceasar? What is the significance of 2004 years in this discusion? I think you lost me a little on this one I'm afraid.

The middle east has been waging war off/on small/big for well over 2004 years for well...just about anything that comes to mind each morning.
