Recently, I've been having big fun spending a few iTunes gift certificates...buying singles from my childhood. I've been searching the web for lists of one-hit-wonders from the 60's and 70's and then hunting down the music on iTunes. Some of those links lead to others and I've rediscovered a whole bunch of songs I haven't heard in years.

Normally, I'm a bit of head-banger, but something about music from those early years. It is just fun.

Here's a short list of my most recent purchases....

Never been any reason by Head East
Children of the sun by Billy Thorpe
Gitarzan by Ray Stevens
Bongo Rock by The Ventures
War by Edwin Starr
The Rapper by Jaggerz
Nothing from Nothing by Billy Preston
Venus by Shocking Blue
96 Tears by ? and the Mysterians
Dizzy by Tommy Roe
Red Rubber Ball by the Cyrkle
Papa was a rolling stone by the Tempations
Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James and the Shondells
Hair by the Cowsills
When I was young by the Animals

I confess, I'm an iTunes junkie as well. Not only for the songs, but for the vids/tv shows as well. I'm absolutely addicted to it, among my many other addictions.
Some of those songs are great too. The Cyrkle...wow, I didn't know many other people actually listened to that song. And, you can't go wrong with ? Mark, Tommy James and the Animals. I remember hearing "Warm San Francisco Nights" by the Animals and absolutely loving it. Then when I moved there as a kid, it meant all that more.

Wow, Children of the Sun! I had that on vinyl. Gotta love the opening drum solo panning right to left.
