I have attended a couple of lectures given by Jim Lovell (Apollo 13) and I can most assuredly conclude that what he experienced was real to him. I do not believe that an actor could be more convincing.

As for the Pentagon plane not being on security cameras... that is easy to explain. Security cameras are usually done on a time lapse basis IE 1 frame every so often. Even at 10 frames a second it would be tough to capture an object traveling at 500 mph. I am no math wizard, but I am sure that if we figure out the distance from the camera and the field of view and compare that with the size of the plane and the feet per second the plane was moving and figure how many frames per second the camera was recording we will have a valid explanation as to why there is little photographic evidence of the plane.

By my calculations the plane was moving at about 44,000 feet per second, lets say we had a 300 yard (900ft) field of view and the plane was 200 feet long.
At 44,000 feet per second the plane would be in the cameras field of view for 0.02 seconds. Even at 10 fps that leaves holes big enough to hide a plane in.

Neil Armstrong was picked to be the first man on the moon because he was a civilian above any other reason. We had signed the lunar non-militarization pact and this was one way to live up to the spirit of that. There are other reasons too why a civilian was selected but you can look into it more if you want to find out.
