Appearantly, there is a JR outlet some 30-40 miles from my new apt. Anyone visisted an outlet before? Is it worth my time to drive out there?

Thanks

I don't know what you mean by an outlet. Where are you living now? It is cool just to go look at the cigars at the outlet. The sales staff usually sucks, but you can find in house specials that are worth the drive.

Got to agree. Have been to JR's store outside of Charlotte, NC, and it's fun to look at all the stuff they have for sale in addition to the cigar selection. Last time I was in, I got a couple of Opus X Power Rangers at msrp, and a bundle of connies #9 for around $15.00. Just plan on spending some time as the place is HUGE!!

Been to JRs in Charlotte. It's a large place. You can catch decent specials. If you want to see LOTS of cigars it's worth the trip.

I haven't been there but I would love to visit it sometime...im 8 or 9 hrs away, so next time I go to myrtle beach i'll have to stop!

Can't miss it, right off I-77, and they have a "couple" of billboards on either side of the exit to "remind" you. lol Just bring your checkbook, credit cards, or cash, as they have a lot of stuff to entertain the rest of the family as you browse the cigar selection.

Well worth the trip. They have lots to choose from and some really good specials on Humidors, usually. Set aside at least an hour or two.

A mear 30-40 miles away? But of course it is worth it. Depending upon the available storage space you currently have, you might have to buy a new humi to store the merchandise that you buy during that visit.

Definately worth a 40 mile drive. I went to the one in Burlington in December and it was well worth the drive from Raleigh. Biggest humidor I have ever seen in my life and I actually found a cigar specialist in the store that was very helpful.

That might be the same store, since I'm in Fayette-nam (south of Raleigh) and the store I'm mentioning is off of 95 on the way towards Raleigh.

I guess I'll have to check it out on my next free weekend (that'll be in Mar sometime). I'll write a trip report and let you all know what I thought/found.

I've only been to the one in Burlington and it was big, but they didn't have much in the way of Fuentes. What have you guys found with the other locations?

never been to one but you guys make it sound well worth the trip, making room on my calander as we speak!

I was at the one near Charlotte just before I flew home for the Super Bowl. It was worth the trip. It's a pretty interesting site, the amount cigars in that giant humidor. I didn't get alot cigars there, but my daughter picked up a nice Can-Can doll in the other part of the store. I'll definitely go back there the next time I visit, with a little more money and little bigger suitcase for smokes.

Humid compared to what? I just left 5 years in Okinawa, where the lowest humidity all year is around 90%. If you don't refridgerate the bread, it molds in about 4 days....

We'll see... assuming I spend enough of summer here to notice it.

Jr's is a great place to visit, definately worth the trip! I never saw so many sticks in my life, it's a place to behold!

There's a JR store in Whippany, New Jersey that is closer.

The one you are talking about is in Selma(sp) NC. I have been to that store and it is very large!!! You will enjoy it!!!

I used to make the 3+ hour drive from Charlottesville, VA to Burlington, NC on a quarterly basis. This is the location of the headquarters of the internet based business. The cigar selection is great and once I was fortunate enough to be there when they were giving tours of their humidified warehouse (arguably the largest in the world). The number of cigars in that place was incredible. Anyway, the in-store specials are great and they typically honor the internet deals as well. If it is only 30-40 minutes, do it.
