Judas Priest

Yuck ??? They once were a great band and other then the fact that Geof Tate has lost some range they still put on one hell of a show. Operation Mindcrime is one of the great albums of all time.

Hell ya! Number 156 on their first album is a fav of mine. operation m/c was a great album

The loss of Chris DeGarmo has hurt them more than any change in Geoff's voice, IMHO. I wonder if they will reunite for this tour. I am also wondering if they will do Mindcrime in it's entirety as they did on the last tour. That would be awesome.

Oh come on! I can't believe nobody's mentioned Empire yet. You guys don't hate it just because it was popular do you? Come on, I mean Jet City Woman, Another Rainy Night, and Empire of course. Another Rainy Night is great and Silent Lucidity is great as well even if it was wildly popular.

You know when I first got my XM radio they didn't have squiz and some other channels yet so the Bone yard was about it for me at the time. Man, it seemed like QR was on there just about every couple hours like clockwork. Older stuff, newer stuff, you name, about every couple hours it seemed like. I was beginning to wonder who in the band had gotten a job there or was blowin somebody who worked there. The cool thing was though even if it was a song I didn't recognize, I did always recognize the sound. They are very distinctive, and I always seem to turn them up even if I'm not paying attention to who it is at the moment.

Come On!!! Everyone sing now............ Too bad people say... Whats wrong with the kids today......

What he said!!
Dam right!!
Great Albumn!!!

I was never a QR fan (their music is okay, I just never bought an album/tape/cd).

But Judas Priest is one of the best of all time. When Glen Tipton and KK Downing get it going, no one's any better.

Just got their newest cd, but haven't listened to it yet. I'll plug it in on the drive home today. :D

i saw black label society, slayer and judas priest about a year ago. i was planning on leaving after slayer because i've never been much of a priest fan, but they were awesome! they blew slayer out of the water.

You failed to mention the best song on that record, Della Brown

Good album but ranks pretty low in the QR pantheon for me behind OMC, Warning, Rage for Order and their EP ;)

Empire does have the distinction of being their last good album. I don't know what happened after that. And did anybody else hear Geoff's solo album? WTF?

But they were great in the day. they put on so many good shows, I saw them quite a few times, and never got tired of Livecrime. I have just recently started to think it is sounding dated, if only because of the 80s riffs and Geoff's operatic voice. I still enjoy it though.

I even joined their fan club one year in hopes of getting good tickets and a meet n/ greet, but I got shanked on that, so don't bother joining "the tribe" or whatever they call it.

In case you haven't heard, Mindcrime II is to be released this year. It will be a miracle if it lives up to the first one, but maybe we'll finally find out who killed Mary.

Okay, I've think I've pretty much outed myself as a QR geek, so I am going to revisit this thread in a couple of days, and hopefully there are some posts as geeky as mine...
