It's a tad early but was just wondering if anyone has their July long weekends set yet? For myself we're heading up to the cottage and I'll be smoking a Cohiba Siglo VI, Fuente Fuente OpusX and an Asthon VSG, not necessarily in that order. I have yet to try any one of those cigars so I'm really looking forward to that weekend!

Our 27th anniversary is June 30th, so I don't know what the Bride has planned. We take turns each year making plans for the weekend.

That's a great idea. When I proposed to my wife, I knew we were going away for a weekend, but I let her arrange everything about it (it was our anniversary of first meeting). She had no idea I was planning on proposing because I let her handle all the details of the getaway weekend so it worked out well. I like the taking turns each year...cool idea.

In mid July my wife and I will be heading North to the Vancouver B.C. area to visit friends, and celebrate my birthday. Further off in August we usually take a week long "weekend" with the kids and go to her families lake property on Lake Roosevelt in Eastern WA.

I will be volunteering at the US Senior Open here in Hutchinson KS. While not working I will be watching (and hopefully learning).

I basically have a do-nothing job, caddie services. Kind of a concierge type thing. It should be fun.

Make sure and watch on the tube, I'll be the guy with the cigar!

My clan, at least the Denver branch will congregate at #1 son's house for the festivities. I passed the patriarchal torch to him a few years ago so we can mess up his house instead of mine. He is an ex Marine, a beer con-oisser, and a pretty good cook.

I've got the 29th and 30th off....to move everything out of our living room and two bedrooms for new carpet...!! The carpet goes in on the 30th, so we "move back in" on the 1st. Got oldest son to help with the moving chores so I'm sure carbonated adult beverages and a smoke or three will be involved. That and test driving the new gas grill we have outside....

Party on the shores of Lake Waramaug complete with fireworks on July 2nd. I'll be in the town of Warren, not Kent on private property at a prime location for the show!

For a second I thought WTH is Lake Waramaug and where is it but after looking at it I am jealous! Hope eveyone enjoys themself and be safe!

Yes, it's a beautiful lake in western Connecticut. My ex-wife works for Hopkins Vineyard and the Hopkins family has been in the town of Warren for over 200 years. :0 The family dairy farm was converted to a winery/vineyard in the late 1970s. The picture at the top of the page on the website for the vineyard is a shot of Lake Waramaug taken from the vineyard property which is on top of a hill overlooking the lake. The family also has property right on Lake Waramaug and they throw a huge 4th of July party every year and I was lucky enough to receive an invitation.

There will be a few bottles of wine at the party!
