seems there is a rash of oven door thefts around the nation. the doors are packaged and sold as flat screen tvs. there must be a lot of trusting souls out there, or just plain greedy. buyer beware!

yep...was approached at my local home depot the other week...the guys pulls up i a van, opens the back up and asks if i wanted flatscreen for 600.00, says they had an extra or 2 from an install, yet the van is unmarked. i kndly reply i was all set, so he approaches another person. and so on and so on. i gather this is the same scam you are referring to.

A really good friend of mine fell for the speaker scam. More money than brains, and more brains than common sense...and he's not exactly rich.

The speaker gig has been around forever. Usually MTX empty speaker boxes left over from a local movie theater. The oven doors is genius...Why don't I think of this stuff?
