Sad stuff, great player and genuine person. I remember seeing him play the Rangers when I was a kid. R.I.P.

One of the last of a dying breed - a truly great ballplayer and person. The game could seriously use more like him.

Kirby loved the game and it showed in the way he played. I caught many games at the dome in the late 80's, Kirby Puckett was the main reason why. Baseball would be a better game if their were more players that had Kirby's passion for the game and in treating his fellow players the right way.
