In case you didn’t know the La Aurora factory is the oldest cigar factory in the Dominican Republic. It is also belong to the biggest private enterprise in the island, led by one of the richest and oldest families in our business. The La Aurora brand was created by Don Eduardo Leon Jimenes at the opening of the La Aurora factory in 1903. In later years the family mad its fortune in other consumer products but the passion in the tobacco business remained. Thus it happened, about ten years ago, that Guillermo Leon, the great grandson of Don Leon, accidentally found an old box of Perferidos lying in his grandfather’s humidor. That box was hidden for decades. Inspired by the sense of tradition, the Leon family decided to honor its ancestor and re-introduce his legacy.
The unique shape and distinctive taste of the Perferido reflects a century old tradition of the La Aurora factory. The Perferido takes you back in time to the lasting values of yesteryear, when expert rollers first brought dedication and precision, and cigars were a true object of art and passion. This tradition is coming now full circle with a select blend made of today’s best tobacco to produce a cigar of medium-bodied complexity with rich, aromatic notes.
Only the most experiences cigar makers of the entire La Aurora operations are allowed to sit at the Perferidos rolling tables. This select group works in an exact replica of the original factory, recreated in 2003 inside the same original building of the La Aurora factory.
The Perferido is made with the best Cameroon wrapper, Dominican Piloto Cubano binder and a secret blend of tobacco long leaves to create an oily, well constructed cigar producing a creamy smooth smoke with notes of roasted nuts. The entire production is limited to only 30,000 cigars. In this lot we managed to get for you an aged stock of Special Sampler boxes of the Perferido line. Each box comes with six torpedo shaped cigars 2 of each size: the No. 1 (6x58), No. 2 (5x54), and No. 3 (4x50).
