Growing too fast.
I’ve really been looking forward to smoking this cigar since it arrived (thank you brother). The wrapper is a dark brown with slight oil, tiny crystals that sparkle in the sunlight, and a couple of prominent veins running the length. It feels a little light in the hand compared to its size, is very firm when squeezed, and with the cap punched I find the draw perfect with taste of straightforward tobacco.
After torching the foot and taking several puffs to get the smoke flowing, I take a long draw to get perfect spice on the tongue and throat with the smoke itself medium in strength. Flavor is very rich right from the start with that red, ripe fruit taste that I absolutely love in the La Riqueza line. The finish lasts long after exhaling.
The burn is sharp with a very compact, dull gray ash that falls on its own about an inch in leaving a flat coal that is black in color. Rich, delicious medium strength smoke is flowing effortlessly through the perfect draw with spice hitting the palate just right. Flavors continue to be incredibly good with that taste of ripe fruit, cocoa, and earth in the lasting finish.
Again, I had been looking forward to this cigar and it absolutely did not disappoint with sharp burn, perfect draw, and incredibly rich flavors that fits my palate to a T. La Riqueza has been my go to smoke for quite some time now, and thoroughly enjoyed this one. Excellent smoke!
