I started as a scotch drinker before moving to bourbon. I still love my Islays, but its been a move largely driven by cost. Post divorce I simply could spend $100 on a bottle any more. AT least not regularly. I like Laphroaig just fine but much prefer other Scotches. If its pure peat I want, I'd drink Lagavulin instead.
