I was turned on to this tea on a recent trip to England. If you haven't had it before, it's worth a try. The tea is smoked over pinewood and has that great smoky scent to it. It really smells just like a smoker. I had picked up some smoked blood sausage in Germany just prior to this and the smell was exactly the same (the smoked smell; nothing to do with the "blood" part).

So my wife picked up some of the tea for me today at the British store and I'm sipping on it tonight with a cigar. The smoky scent isn't carrying over into the brewed tea as much as the brand I had in England, so it's pretty subtle. I may have to make it a little stronger next time. Overall, though, it seems like a pretty good pairing. Probably even better with a morning smoke if you want something besides coffee.

Here's the wiki link for more info on the tea: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapsang_souchong

[sub]X2. I was reading a book by brad thor and the main character, Scot Horvath, was drinking lapsong souchong and compared it to an Islay scotch. Needless to say i had to try it. It is not like scotch but, as tea goes it does have a lot of of smoke and earthy tones. Definitely good stuff. [/sub]

I usually get my teas from The Art of Tea website. Stuff is pretty good.
