I am going to Vegas in June and have a question. The last time I was there I really wasnt smoking cigars much and didnt ask. I read online that some of the casinos will give you cigars, just like drinks. Hell if I am dropping money there I will take free stuff. The question though is are they worth a damn? If not then I want to bring my own. Has anyone sampled the cigars from one of the casinos? If so what casino and what did you get?

Why June bro? Why not go in May (aka NEAR the end of June) to the CP herf?????

I would, but I didnt plan the trip. My wife bought it for me for Christmas. Hmm. or did she buy it for herself. Kinda cool she got my boss to give me the week off and set it all up.

I've never experienced this, but I guess if you're dropping coin they might as well bring you a cigar? You aint gonna get no Davidoff though, I can tell ya that much.

Just swing through Casa Fuente and pay like 9 times retail for some sticks....

free cigars from the casino? haven't seen or heard of that, maybe if you're a whale getting your suite stocked or one delivered to your private blackjack table sure, but every tom dick and harry would clean casino's humidors out if they got cigars at the slot machine.

gift shops usually have some random looking contraption called a humidor with what looks likes an interns attempt at using a thompson catalog.

I reccomend bringing your go to cigars, and alot of extra cash to stop by Casa Fuente (forum shops Ceasars) and Davidoff (canal shops Venetian)

There's some Vegas locals here that might be able to help you out with the local rollers and b&m's.

I plan on hitting a few shops. They do give away a ton of drinks, so I dont doubt that they do. I know they will bring you a cigarette if you want one. I just dont want junk when I am trying to enjoy myself. I better bring some with me but still seeing if anyone has actually had one.

Well, i can comment that if you're looking for a place to go, I'd suggest a few...

Straight up shop, the Paiute Indian smoke shop on main and Washington is dirt cheap, because they have no tax. Alotta Ashtons (VSG's), Ghurkas, Romeo Y Julietas, but nothing really special.

Good B&M with a lounge and bar, I go to Havanna Cigar Company. They have a pretty good stock, a little expensive but not bad, full bar and wine bar in the back. They will deliver to hotels, for free methinks. Located on paradise and flamingo-ish.

Another I frequent is The Tobacco Leaf on Eastern and Serene area. Good lil B&M humidor is jam packed full...good prices They got a lounge in the back but I don't know if they have a bar.

So, those are my favorite places as a local, I dont know much about local rollers, but I do know there's a place thats called the Vegas Cigar Co. located on Eastern and Sunset, and it's all their own stuff.

So, yeah.... dunno if this is any info you needed, but it might be useful

Its useful, thanks man. I will have to check some of these places out. Will have to be selective because of the wife, or I can hit them up when shes at a table. She wins, I buy. She is good at cards.

oh and to add, Havana Cigar Co. is open till like 1am on weekends, and 11 on week nights, cause of the bar. It's in a plaza with some really popular places, Firefly, a really good Tapas Bar, and some steak houses, etc.

Not sure if they give em' out but I know for a fact at Caesars palace in the poker room they got ladies that walk around yelling "Cigaaaarrrrsssss...... cigggarrrettttess!!!" but I didn't smoke when I lived there so don't know what kind of quality, probably dog rockets.

Depends on how much and where you are playing.

High limit area baccarat, my pops scored me Opus, Davidoff Special R robusto Tubo and a some other Davidoff. He just kept on asking every time they offered and kept it for me. Funny thing is, he wasn't even playing, he was just friends with the guys gambling in the high stakes area. Lucky me.

edit: This was at Mandalay Bay.

A few comments....

First off, if you're staying on the strip, and haven't got a car, I would plan on either bringing my own smokes or being prepared to acquire 'em on the strip. There are five Davidoff locations on the strip, Casa Fuente, and other random little shops in the casinos and the shopping areas (Forum Shops, Mandalay Place, Canal Shops, Miracle Mile, etc, 'though oddly, not in Via Bellagio).

If you decide to venture off of the strip anyway, bear in mind that getting a cab can take an hour or more. If I'm leaving the strip, I let the casino drive me there in a house car (limo) and wait for me.

As regards cigars when you're playing, you can expect Davidoff Ani #1s (or pretty much whatever you want) if you're playing at an "appropriate" level. If you're playing dollar slots, it ain't gonna happen. If you're playing hundred dollar slots in a salon or roulette in a high rollers lounge (like Palace Court at Caesars) at several hundred dollars per spin, absolutely. If your wife is playing poker, she has to work twice as hard because the casinos don't do as well (in terms of what they make). Be aware that when she wins and she's comp'd, the casinos want to comp her, not someone that she's with; they may cry foul unless she's churning a lot of money. And by "a lot of money" I mean at least $1,000 per hand for at least four hours, twice that or more if it's Omaha, Hold 'Em, or similar forms of poker. (They'll want a high ADT to not bitch about catering to her entourage.)

If you're on the strip looking for a good place to smoke and hang out, Casa Fuente in the Forum Shops at Caesars is a good choice, as is Napoleon's at Paris. The seating at Napoleon's is much more comfy than the utilitarian chairs at Casa Fuente, if that matters. People watching is the pastime at Casa Fuente; at Napoleon's there are pianos, so it's live music (sometimes good, sometimes crap). Additionally, there are little bar/lounges on or adjacent to most of the gaming floors that are okay places to hang and just watch It All. And, of course, you can smoke on the casino floor.

Where are you staying? And what dates will you be there? I'm there constantly; in June I'm at the Wynn from the 24th 'til July 1.

She wont be playing a grand per hand so thats off the table. The first time we were there we stayed at the Flamingo. Its nothing fancy but it is cheap and was full of people my age, so it was a nonstop party. She told me she was debating looking at the Luxor but when with the new GO room at the Flamingo. She got one hell of a deal on it. I really dont care since it is just a room and she is the same. I would rather spend my money at the casinos and clubs and such. The Wynns got to cost some cash. We will be there from the 15th to the 21st, so just missing you.

Alot has changed in Vegas since the smoking ban passed last year.
I have been going to Vegas for the past 8 yrs 3-4 times a year so I have seen it go thru alot!

Plus you cant miss out on the CP herfs..S.E.M.A, ANd the RTDA shows!

-Smoking only allowed on casino floors and or bars in casino that do not serve food.
-no more smoking in lounges of restaurants that serve food
-no smoking in the malls (exception Casa Fuente you can still smoke in their area)
-Lots of table games allow you to smoke but be prepared to get a lot of dirty stares but whem Im playing 50+ a hand they can go F themselves
-you can still smoke while walking the strip!!
-BRING YOUR OWN CIGARS!! because their cigars are pricey
-In order to get comped free cigars (usually tubos cigars of so so caliber) you must be a higher rated player (min $25 per hand a cpel hours at table to even be rated at some of the casinos)
-No smoking is allowed in any Poker room in Las Vegas

**Some bars you can smoke at that are decent**
-Seahorse lounge at Ceasars Palace (great view of the pussycat girls dancing and dealing)
-The Heart bar at Planet Hollywood casino nice place to catch some sports action
-Sportsbook at the MGM Grande
-Outdoor patio are at the Wynn hotel overlooking the waterfalls
-Big Apple bar at the NYNY good martini's
-Casa Fuente is a must!! Do it for the Mojitos!
-revolution lounge at Mirage

I will mostly smoke them on the strip while walking around. After reading what some of you wrote I think I will just bring some, but will check out the places suggested.

Thanks guys.
