A new cigar shop just opened close by my work, so I decided to check it out. Turns out it's pretty much a head shop that sells cigars. They do have a decent selection, though a bit pricey. I saw several boxes of Cohibas and burst out laughing. I'm pretty sure, even with my limited knowledge, that they're all fake. The boxes all had glass tops, for starters. The bands were hilariously bad as well. Round dots? Black "COHIBA" printing? I gotta sneak a picture out of this place. The funny part is they didn't say Habana on them anywhere. Do only the CC Cohibas have the yellow bands with black dots?

Those are Dominican knock offs. They can be found at many cigar shops.

probably the old Dominican Yellow label cohibas.

Edit: agree with MMburtch

What's the deal with these? Are they fakes or just slow-moving inventory? A buddy of mine received something like this. He told me it came in a glass tube with a disclaimer that the cigar was not Cuban. Obviously, since the band said Dominican Republic on it. However the guy that gave him the cigar said they were indeed "Cuban" cigars because they were rolled with Cuban seed tobacco. They tried in vain to set the dude straight. I told my buddy that not only were they not a CC, they weren't even a Cohiba.

My local B&M sells these also. I'm not sure if these are the same fakes that your B&M have but I remember my ex-girlfriend's dad picked some up a couple times as his daily smoke. I tried one myself a year or 2 ago and thought they were pretty decent sticks (wasn't experienced in cigar smoking at the time so YMMV).

Yep, those are the bands. Goofy fonts and all. The boxes were square 5x5 cabs with plexi tops and angled "seals".

I don't remember the shop's name, they have more bongs and samurai swords than anything else. It's on 81st Avenue and Bell.

Yeah, all the headshops I've been in have a terrible selection when it comes to cigars anyways. :(
