Looks like summer is officially over

I live about three hours east of PTownshend--smaller city, smaller lake--but just as much (and sometimes more) of the dreaded snow. I hate the stuff. Here, they have something called Winterfest every February--chili cookoffs, ice sculptures, and so on...invariably, the week of Winterfest, the temperatures climb into the mid-40's...good for me, but not so good for the ice sculptors...

Edit to say: I'll take a bright, crisp October day any time...

Amen brother... Fall and Spring are my two most favorite seasons. Fall edges out Spring, however. Give me the clouds, crisp air, and gorgeous leaf changes.

Hmmmm, 3 hours east of Buffalo would put you in Syracuse or thereabouts I'd reckon. :whistling:

Consider yourself lucky to have missed the snow last Tues. night.
I know it was fairly close to you because Hardin MT got 6-8 inches of heavy wet stuff. They had some tree damage there I understand. The snow stretched northeast up past Minot.

from the local paper

"The snap, crackle and pop associated with breaking tree branches and falling power lines resonated throughout the region Tuesday night and Wednesday after a record October blizzard produced 18 to 24 inches of heavy, wet snow. The snow weighed heavily on branches that snapped and then fell on power lines. The end result was thousands of destroyed trees and roadways cluttered with branches and power lines on top of snow that started to drift after high winds hit Wednesday afternoon."

You snow lovers can have your snow.
