I had the privilege of driving Buzz Aldrin around today as he visited our museum while on Oahu. He's 88 years old, but has the wit of someone half his age. I wasn't alive in 1969, but I'm still in awe of, literally, getting to hang out with the man who helped plant the flag on the moon. I didn't ask him half of the questions I wanted to, as I'm sure he's heard -- and answered them -- a million and seven times over the decades. However, he was more than willing to talk, and once he started all I could do was sit there and listen.

I don't really get googly around celebrities, and we've had a few at the museum -- from movie stars, to music stars, to figures from history, and even modern-day astronauts who have been to space. However, it's something else entirely being in the presence of someone whose accomplishments have shaped the world such as he has. I love my job...

Love that generation. I can sit and just listen to the stories. Sadly, I don't think my stories will ever live up, especially what that generation has lived through.

Great story, thanks for sharing.
