Mass. Gov. Patrick Just Proposed a Cigar Tax over 100%.

As a business owner, this has the potential to cripple my store. I've called my representatives, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed and fight this?

Write him and let him know that the only thing this tax hike on cigars will do is kill small, independently owned cigar stores AND drive cigar business out of state. When they realize how much money they've lost with the hike, they'll have to find something else to tax.

They just don't get it. In this economy, you cut taxes to encourage people too spend their hard earned $$.

They increased our sales tax earlier this year, and the Federal government raised excise tax on cigars this past April. This could absolutely decimate some businesses in MA.
