Here (after someone asking me to post it ) is my famous mojito recipe..dirty.
Ingredients
Simple syrup
1.5 cups of BROWN sugar
1.5 cups of water
6 cloves
Heavy fisted dash of grated ginger
Your favourite DARK rum (I currently am using Havana Club Anejo especial)
Soda water
Fresh mint..and when I mean fresh...like the stuff under my rose bushes fresh (lol)
fresh Key limes and when I mean fresh I mean the stuff off my tree next to my rose bushes (lol)
Instructions
Heat brown sugar and water in a Saucepan together until fully dissolved.
bring misture to a boil and add cloves and fresh ginger (like the kind i bought at the store)
Stir occasionally 5-10 minutes..the longer you go..the more pronounced the flavour from the cloves and ginger will be.
Take syrup off heat and allow to cool
In a tall glass..or whatever you have you like to drink add:
1 quatered key lime
4-6 mint leaves
If you do not have one of those fancy muddler thingies a nice wooden spoon directly into what you are serving in does fine.
Beat the bejesus out of the line and mint until well..beaten.
add 2 fingers or so of you favourite DARK rum
add a big healthy splash of the syrup (to taste)..
finish glass with soda water and enjoy.
A nice maduro goes well with this variation of the Cuban classic. out of the 7 people who thried one loved it.
lemme know what you guys think.
