Alright, fellow Minnesotans, we've got 1 week to smoke in public (and in some cases, even our homes :angry: ). If you're lucky enough to have a gathering spot, what are your plans? No place up here allows smoking anyway, so things won't really be changing for me. You guys in and around the Cities, where will you go? I'm heading down at the end of October and I'd like to enjoy a smoke or three.
 
Davela, Swifty, simmsboard, Big Slim Junior, siriusstoogie and myself meet at Al's in St. Louis Park on Thursday nights. However, this week, Joe was going to attend a CF get together at some steak joint. You could ask him about that if you want. I think the rest of us are sticking with Al's.

You, sir, would be absolutely more than welcome to join us. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.

"Outdoor smoking is still permitted under the statewide smoking ban, unless local ordinances restrict it.

Smoking is also allowed in private homes and vehicles, hotel and motel rooms, truck cabs, farm vehicles and buildings, locked psychiatric wards, tobacco shops, Indian ceremonies and on stage for actors performing in plays."

What are you guys doing after next Monday? I won't be coming down until the end of October. By then, there won't be any restaurants or bars to smoke in.

This is really going to hurt a lot of places. What kills me is the money that the anti groups got form the settlement is now being used to "promote" (rub it in our faces) the fact that the ban goes into effect on October 1. These people are just assholes...
 
We will be doing a round robin of tobacconist in the Twin Cities. I rented a locker to one that is closer to home so that can be one of the spot. You are more than welcome to join us any Thursday night. Heck give me an excuse to go out any other night and I will try to make it work.


The Twin Cities CF guys are having their last Beef and Boli at Jax Cafe in Minneapolis. They have extended a welcome to any BOTLs here at CP to come. This will be on Thursday. It starts at 5pm. Please PM if you are interested by Wedensday. The need an accurate head count.

Thursday night locations would include Golden Leaf, Perfect Ash, Stogies, and Tobacco Grove. It really blows, our usual hang-out (Al's) is littered with great eye candy.

Maybe sometime. I'm sure I'll be headed up to the cities soon.
 
Unfortunately, I'll only be available during the day on a Wednesday. My wife has some conference/dinner that day and evening and I have to go to the dinner. I'm trying to work out a solo trip sometime before christmas that will include nights of debauchery and tobacco smoke, but that's still in the planning stages. :)

Thanks for the info about the shops, though. The only two I've ever really been to are Tobacco Grove and Stogies. I'll be down around Burnsville, so those are way out of the way.

This whole smoking ban stuff is a real pisser...

I could maybe do a lunch on a Wednesday. What the hell Wednesday are we talking about? Let me know, maybe we could smoke at Golden Leaf.

It'll be the 24th. I'll know more about where I am staying for sure and what exact times I'll be able to get away as the time gets nearer. I'll shoot you a PM when I know more for sure.

Sweet! TG is my favorite place down there, it's just so far out of the way from where I'm going to be and usually am when in the Cities. I'll definitely be checking Burn when I'm down that way.
