Outdoor electrical sockets come with rubber silicone gasket for water proofing the socket.
May want to get a gfi since it is around humid enviroment.I know they do not sell them with gfi and it may not be needed as per local code but I like to keep anything around water/moisture gfi.
I am in construction.

Hi,
Putting in a GFI is a good idea but requires alot of space and a bit of work not to say it's hard to do. I am a licenced electrician. The reason why i don't want to use a rubber gasket is, all rubber seals are for one breathable and two they have a solvent odour. I know your saying it's an odour small enough that it won't make a differnce but better safe than sorry.Gaskets tend to break down much faster than a sealant will. Your idea is very good. If my idea does not work than instead of the sealant i will use a rubber gasket and plug a gfi power bar into my new plug. When i get this baby done i will posts some pics.
