A buddy just emailed and wants to unload the rest of his Montesino Super Belicosa's at $6.50 a piece. I'd try one first, but he's 1-1/2 hour away and wants to just ship them. From what I've read, they are a good smoke, but he's also the guy who sold me a box of La Fincas, and you know my opinion on that!

Translation: Anyone try these before and should I take or pass? Thanks!

It is a good cigar to be sure but not for $6.50. I recommend getting a box of Fuente Cuban Belicosos instead. Gonna cost you about $120 which is less then $5/ea. IMHO they blow the Montesinos away.

I've had one or two of these.

Definitely worth the 4.80/stick that JR wants for them. Not worth 6.50/stick.

You can pick up a box at Cigar.com for what works out to 6 buck a stix and JR as you can see has them even cheaper. Montesinos are too mild for my taste and I think there are better out there from Fuente who actually make this cigar. I personally feel the La Unica line Natural or Maduro is a better smoke and its cheaper to boot.

Just my .02

No offense to your buddy thats trying to unload them ;)

Ben, Shuji, Roseysman, and Lucusbuck,

Thanks for the reply and all the info. I'm told they sell for $7.25 a stick at our local reservation (at least there is no sales tax or shipping) but I have not been impressed with their prices in the first place. What they are good for is trying a single before you commit to the box.

It sounds like the Montesino is going to be a little mild for my tastes then. I've become partial to the sun growns. Thanks guys.
