So as most of you know, I've been living in the DC area for the last 7 or so years. Well, my wife and I have always wanted to move somewhere with a slightly slower pace of life (and a higher quality of life) esp. once having kids popped on our Radar. Well, as fate would have it, I was offered a job in Charlottesville, doing what i want to do, and with great pay and benefits. My wife's job would be flexible and allow her to continue working while tellacommuting. So I accepted the job, and will start in Charlottesville, Tuesday September 4th.

Excited does not even begin to describe us. Just thinking of living and working down there brings a smile to our faces. There are a ton of things to get done in the next few weeks, as September 4th will be here sooner then we will expect, but we have put in a pretty good dent in the To Do list already.

Now, onto the important subjects, who is down in the c'ville area, and please tell me that there is a quality B&M with a lounge, or a bar that allows smoking.

Jon

So my last day at my current job is tomorrow! I have 2 weeks between now and when I start my new job in C'Ville. I'm crazy excited about getting down there and starting my next chapter in life. If nothing else, the quality of life will increase exponently. My wife who is from C'Ville is even more excited. We have been busting our hump to get the house ready to go on the market. Some tough days are behind us and some more ahead of us, which makes an evening cigar that much more enjoyable. A lot of stars have been in alignment and hopefully a few more to align inorder to get our last tie with DC (our house) severed cutting us free to finally free to transition completely to C'Ville. Wish us luck in making our move to C'Ville.

Good luck Jon, it sounds like y'all have everything moving right along. I hope the transition continues to be a good one for you and the family.

So I'm now down in Charlottesville. Did some productive house searching this weekend and luckily found a great agent. I'm happily surprised at what one can trade a house in DC for down here! Also getting set up at the new company. Already have a project to run in Charlottesville so I'm now engulfing myself in the project, very excited with what lays ahead of me.
