Music that doesn't suck

One of my favorite artist of all time. Proves you don't need to have a great range to have an addicting voice.

Neil Young

Here's an easy one...bonus for naming at least one other artist/group that have remade this classic.

Standing on the corner, suitcase in my hand,
Jack is in his coat, and Jane is her vest, and, me,
I'm in a rock'n'roll band. Huh!
Ridin' in a Stutz-Bearcat, Jim
Y'know, those were different times!
Oh, all the poet, they studied rules of verse,
And the ladies, they rolled their eyes.

Here's one by someone that, in my expeience, people either love his music or hate it. I happen to love it.

In a Hong Kong drizzle on Cuban heels
I rowed down the gutter to the Blood Bank
I'd left all my papers on the Ticonderoga
and was in a bad need of a shave
I slopped at the corner on cold chow mein
and shot billards with a midget
until the rain stopped

Oh....I can't think of his name!

It's that guy with the really raspy voice. My roommate in college listened to him all the time. . .

AAHHH!!!

That's it!! Tom Waits.

Sorry if I accidentally gave a hint. I had the song going on in my head (hard to forget after hearing his stuff EVERY DAY for hours on end for 3 years) and I just couldn't remember the guys name.

Not my cup of tea, but I know a lot of guys who LOVE his stuff.

bonus for album...

"When the going gets tough and the stomach acids flow,
the cold wind of conformity is nipping at your nose.
Some trendy new atrocity has brought you to your knees."

"..come with us and we'll sail the seas of cheese." primus (dont know the album tho.)

Tequila in his heartbeat, His veins burned gasoline.
It kept his motor running but it never kept him clean.
They say he loved adventure, "Ricky's the wild one."
He married trouble and had a courtship with a gun.
Bang Bang Shoot 'em up, The party never ends.
You can't think of dying when the bottle's your best friend...

Ill contribute as well... amazing duo... yet not serious. Some will know, most won't.

History of Wonderboy and Young Nastyman,
Riggah-goo-goo, riggah-goo-goo.
A secret to be told, a gold chest to be bold,
And blasting forth with three-part harmony, yeow!
Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power?
Wonderboy, won't you take me far away from the mucky-muck man?

Tenacious D yet again. I thought I was the only guy that listened to these 2. :)

Guess i'll add one more from one of my favorite groups:

I have found some kind of temporary sanity in this
shit blood and cum on my hands.
I've come round full circle.

You guys skipped mine!

First dance at my wedding was Harvest Moon.

Also walked down the isle to Bron-Yr-Aur by zep.

Wedding party left the alter to the sopranos theme song.

Dude, I'm such a tool. Sorry about skipping you ;)

I have everything Tom Waits has ever done, in any way. Period. He's genius, though I love his earlier Asylum Records stuff better than anything else. He's my Chuck Bukowski of music.
