'my brother got it in Guatemala'

Okay, so this really great guy I work with and I swap a smoke, and he hands me this...
"My brother got three when he went to Guatemala, he SAYS they're real"

Worst story evar.

Anyways, I've taken a few snaps of it, from my inspection (and having just seen a few pics online) I'm suspicious, the label seems like lighter paper than a regular band, but there's a few things that sway me the other way too..

Here's a few pics to show you the smoke, I tried to take pics with the flash on and off for good comparison, I posted links to save the guys with dialup (dial what?!!?):

Here's the full smoke next to a measuring tape. It matches a number 3 pretty well I suppose, tho I'm not sure how to tell ring gague..

Here's the label:

The filler:

Here's the cap:

I'm suspect, but without another to compare it to it's impossible to tell. Anyone want to take a few snaps of a Monty #3 and post em or something?

Cheers bros!

Don't know if it is real or not but 1 ring gauge is 1/64". Therefore a ring gauge of 64 is 1 inch and a ring gauge of 32 is 1/2".

Doesn't look real IMO but then again, I'm far from an expert on these. From the looks of it, the filler doesn't look right and that does not look like a triple cap to me (even where you outlined it). Wrapper color looks off as well but it could be the lighting. Just throwing my input out there. :)

Nothing besides the cap looks particularly suspicious. A fake may have triple caps or not. And the ones that do, sometimes mimic authentic cigars perfectly and other times, the caps extend too far down the barrel of the cigar. Past the should of where curve of the head meets the straight sides of the body.

I'd certainly say the origins make it suspicious.

PS. Thanks for the links. It's not the presence of photos that kills the load time, but large photos. Yours were actually nicely resized.

Wilkey have you been drinking or just tired from being up with the new baby?
Either way you need help ???

I tried my hardest to interpret this as a typo, but it escapes me.......

 :0 A little of both! I just finished 4 12-14 hour days preparing for an American Psychological Society poster presentation and I celebrated with some rum and cigars. Oh yeah, repeatedly staying up until 2-3AM is bad for the brain. :D

I think I meant to say "shoulder."

I didn't know being a poster child took that much effort. I'm impressed.
