So Khaki (the people thought she was a he) is in heat. We've had for her a few months, and I came home today and she's crying all night long, until you hold her, then when she's not crying she's rubbing her butt on the carpet like a dog on a sidewalk. What the hell do I do to stop her?

Besides fixing her?

Any tips?

??? KB

my cat, why would I put in a dog? ???

Also, she's rubbing her butt on the pool table now... It's making me wanna stop playing pool.

I have soem naked photos of AlexGTP that I am sure will make her never think of doing "the Nasty"..worked for my dog

(don't ask where the pics came from)

I laughed out loud when I read that :D

When she is out of heat, get her fixed. That's the only way this will stop. Unless she is purebred and you plan to breed her, it's irresponsible to not have her fixed IMO.

Sorry, KB, thought your were exclusively a dog family. I agree with that jingles guy, take her in and get her spayed. Most people agree that allwoing one heat is a good idea anyway, as it means the animal's fully matured.

Oh, you know this is gonna go on for days, right? And have you looked outside to see how many tom's are responding to your queen's siren call? Be careful when you open the door!! :sign: :sign:

Be sure to wait for a few weeks after her heat before having her spayed. When the animal (dog or cat) is in heat or close to coming into heat, their reproductive organs and the area surrounding them are extremely vascular. Having her spayed while in heat or near a heat could kill her. Try to have it done in the middle of the cycle. Your vet should be able to help. I know about this because we just had one of our Aussies spayed. She should not have come into heat for 2 1/2 months, but was coming in early. We did know it. We almost lost her during the surgery. Just wouldn't stop bleeding. So, just a word to the wise to use caution and time it appropriately.

Finally, the mature people jump in. Thanks BOTLs! She's till going crazy.

You were right, I'm mainly a dog person, but we have two dogs and two cats. I mainly focus on my dogs. ;)
