My first ISOM

Let me fist say I am a newbie and don't know all the tasting points. I had my first ISOM today, a Partagas short, and I was impressed. I don't normally smoke short cigars and was really put off initially because of the loose draw but I am impressed because this cigar stayed cool untill the end. Little puffs produced a lot of smoke with lots of flavor. I cant believe I made this short smoke last almost 45 minutes (I smoked untill the nub). This cigar stayed cool and flavorfull till the nub, I didn't put it down untill I burnt my fingers. Now I know why there is the ISOM mystique. Sorry this wasn't more of a "professional" critique but I just wanted to share my joy.
 
Now there is no looking back. You have been bitten by an invisible UFO called the cigar bug - are you itchy?. Your life as you know it will never be the same again :laugh:

:thumbs: right on, Partagas Shorts are one of my favorites......don't worry, thats about as good of a review as I could write and I have been smokin' cigars for 5 years

Nothing at all wrong with taht review! You let us know some stuff about a cigar that you enjoyed...what more could you want? Sure there are gusy that are great at writing reviews (I'm not one of them) but your was great! Keep 'em coming. Congrats on the first ISOM. party SHorts are one of my favorite small cigars, and I always have a box around. They are great for when you don't have the time for a honker of a cigar. I have found the same...like a small dog with big dog attitude, they are a small cigar that show most (though not all) of the attributes I look for in a cigar of any size. You hit it on the head...small puffs keep them happy, and they willt reat you right!

I gotta say, I'm pleasantly suprised at how well received this little review was. As I'm still sqeekin' new here it's very welcoming to get these comments. I'm already lookin for the best ways to get more of these but I'm sure that info will come down the pike (in private) given some time. This is going to hurt my wallet though(fishing, flying, RC planes, car racing, golf, cigars, brewing...why don't I ever get any CHEAP hobbies?). This is a very cool lounge so far...Now someone put on some Sinatra will ya? :cool:
 
Well isn't this a coincidence. I smoked my first Party short today. It was a great smoke. Great burn and flavors.
 
That is what amazes me about Cubans. Even small ones pack TONS of flavor and if smoked properly - will not burn hot.

Each of these can last between 40-60 minutes and will blow a NC smokers mind. I find that 99% of small NCs taste like smoke and burn hot - not so in the Cuban world.
