I spent the weekend on Marthas Vineyard and bought a couple of Opus X Perfection A sticks to kick back and relax. Once I got to the hotel I cracked one open out the the box. The stick was a little spongy for my taste so I let it sit out for an entire day(24 hours). I got ready to enjoy "an experience of a lifetime" and was a little disappointed. The cigars construction had one small vein so I was pretty impressed. The smoke itself was creamy and full bodied. It went from having a nice peppery spice to a nutty, wood aroma pretty quickly. I was impressed with the complexity as it made its way down the stick as it should for a 9"+ cigar. But the burn was atrocious. I must have clipped and re-lit about 3 times. The draw was pretty effortless at first but got harder and harder a little more than 2/3 through the cigar. I was only taking a couple draws a minute and the smoke never got harsh. What did I do wrong? Should I have let it sit out longer? Maybe just a bad stick? Does it need aging? I don't want to struggle with the other one because it takes all the enjoyment of smoking a cigar. I could care less if its an "opus blah blah" if it takes more work fixing it than it does smoking it... Please any feedback is appreciated..
