Went on a spending spree.. Got some of these here and there. Popped into the local B&M to grab those two 1926's and noticed their had their Opus X box back out. So decided to snag two. 2004 Rubusto and Fuente Fuente.. Bought one back in March for my birthday and it was a damn fine smoke. Makes me want to buy more of those or buy new ones and let em age.

One banded 64s and Opus from '04? That's either one helluva B&M or they don't get much traffic. Either way, nice stuff.

Whoa.... those 64s only have one band...

I guess that means ORs?

Nope. It doesn't mean the OR ones as the 2nd band was to help fight the counter fitting. I can not remember when the Padron family started doing the 2nd band. But it absolutely does not signify that its a OR Padron 1964. As it would say, "Anniversario" on the band.

Congrats on the pickups. Those are some seriously nice looking smokes. Enjoy.

Thanks. I got those 1964's off another forum.. Was told they were like 8+ years old.

Did the change to Anniversary happen simultaneously with the addition of the second band?

I think they started the second band in 2000-2001. I'm pretty sure it was after the Millennium was released, because that was the first one to have a serial number (granted no second band).

The really old school bands said "Anniversario". Now find those and you're in business.

EDIT -- The photo shows a "counterfeit" on the left. I couldn't find another pic representing an "O" band 64, and I've smoked all of mine.

I knew I still had it.

My bands from the "old" 1964's look like the bands from the sticks I currently buy. The new labels seem to have the 1964, Anniversary and SERIES at the bottom of the band in bold, where as my old bands are a non bolded look. I'm gonna see if I can get a decent picture.

And.. My bands...
