My new Pup

Hey, What about WINSTON

We have a winner!!

I'll have the package out later today or tomorrow at the latest.

He is in fact named after the great cigar smoker Winston Churchill as the Hawk brother suggested, even though Churchill is not part of his registered name.

We're looking forward to many years of happiness from this guy. My little boy is so excited to have a puppy around and he'll be big enough to at least make intruders weary when he's grown. Of course he'll likely pin them down and lick them to death, but that should keep them occupied should the opportunity present itself. :D

Thanks Alan for the contest; had some help though ;) ;)

I won't forget all of you who made this victory possible......

Shit I was gonna guess winston. Oh well, it happens to be my middle name also. Long running family name. BTW good choice, just please don't revert to calling him winny.

WEAK!!! ;)

Damn you 'Balls - my wife was in my office as I was reading the thread and she guessed Winston right away - then you reply and high-n-tight brilliantly gets the name correct.

Oh, very cute pup by the way, Alan.

Hmmm... I think we've got a new nickname for Shooter... :whistling:

:sign:

Robusto

Wha...the constest is over? Well, that's what happens when you don't read the entire thread.

Your package is on it's way! My little boy tossed in a couple of items as well. I hope they make it safely. I don't have a DC# as that service isn't available on mail going over there. I have no idea how long it should take, but best guess is a week or so. The last package I sent over there took about that long. The package I sent to Brickhouse took a little less than that.

Take it easy!

Ugh, my mother in law already started that. It was quickly stopped.

I guess I'm a weirdo, but it bothers me when people shorten a name and use it as a nickname like that. I guess it comes form years of people calling me Al. I'd always say, "My name is Alan, not Al. If your going to take the time to call me something other than my given name, at least make the effort to come up with something original."

His name is Winston. That's it, nothing else. :)

What, I don't even get a mention for Churchill ???

:)

Thanks for the competition.

You got your mention here:

As for the name...one of you was VERY close. I'm sure with the INFINITE wisdom around here, someone will eventually get it!

;)

It was subtle but instrumental in the success of the guessing game. Didn't know if you meant the man or the vitola, but you definitely mentioned Churchill first.

Happy now? :p

:D

You already had a winner when I came back to read the thread,
I never saw that post. If I had, I would have got it - you made it easy
with that clue..

I wander if high-n-tight picked up on your clue or just a guess.

Funny - I looked at the pup and immediately thought of Winston Churchill,
but chose the last name.

Oops, I hope I didn't get your goat or anything. :(

It was all meant in jest. :D

I'm pretty sure the answer was gleaned from a post by someone posting their second guess. I figured the clue would give it away, but it wasn't as obvious as I thought it was to some.

No hard feelings? Sarcasm and joking around are really tough in a written forum sometimes. :(

Well if truth be told......I was actually doing "WORK" at my desk (it was about 4pm local time) and TASMAN ran into my office all out of breath.....

He said go to CP....NOW!.....HURRY!

He wouldn't even let me read the post.....he said to just REPLY to the post and type in "WINSTON".......

So I trusted the old Non-Commissioned Officer and ended up winning.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.....

:) :) :)

I knew nothing about it, it was all Tasman and HNT.

I was going on my 23rd straight hour of work and hadn't even had a chance to check CP. I rarely have any opportunities to monitor CP throughout my rigorous work day.

That's my story, and I'll try and stick to it :whistling:

And if any of you CPers believe that....PM me cause I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell ya.
