I don't know if I mentioned this before, but in January I left the classroom, after 18 years of teaching at the same school (most of it in the same ROOM!) to take an online teaching and curriculum development position. It's a huge raise and less stress and the work is fun and it still pays into my state retirement AND into SSI, so it wasn't a hard decision to make. Getting out of my existing contract WAS, however.

Which is why I wasn't sure until yesterday if they were really going to pay me for my 600 hours of untaken paid sick leave or not . . . but they did. And an hour later, the watch I've wanted since Daniel Craig wore one as "Bond, James Bond" in Casino Royale was on its way to me from California. Got here this morning!

The box this thing comes in is nicer than any humidor I've ever seen. And lined in leather that wouldn't be out of place in a freaking Rolls. :eek:

Solid damn watch. Feels like a gazillion dollars on my wrist and it's already a part of me. Damn. And every time I check the time, I can smile and tell myself, "This is my reward for all those teenagers I didn't kill!" ;)
