My sampler so far has been less then stellar!

My sampler that I ordered online so far has quite frankly sucked.



It consisted of:

5 CAO crillo (didn't like this at all smoked less then half of it)
5 Punch Pita (was ok, pretty bland actually, smoked about 3/4ths of it)
5 Hoyo de Monterrey Governer (have not smoked one yet)
5 Cohiba Lonsdale Grande (enjoyed this one some,almost nubbed it, of course the nice glass of scotch I had may have contributed to my enjoyment!)


I think I need to do the newbie sampler I have read about here.

I suggest you do the newbie sampler!
 
If you're fortunate enough to have a cigar shop within a reasonable distance, I strongly suggest you visit. I learned so much from my local tobacconist. Even with Colorado taxes so high, I still buy singles of stuff I'm looking to try. Now that he knows me, my tobacconist even sets stuff aside for me. When you visit, answer his questions candidly, and he'll fix you up with some good stuff to try.

funny story (at least I though it humerous) I was in the store the other day and decided to do just what you suggested. Turns out the lady working doesn't smoke so she couldn't really offer much advice as to what to put in my humidor! :laugh:

the other lady who I've talked with was really high on the Acid cigars but being I have not read to many favorable reviews on them I did not buy any.

I do look to see if some of the popular smokes that people rave about here are in stock at the place.

Yeah that list sounds like it sucks..... Newbie Sampler Trade imo... Hell I wish I was still a newbie (well I still am compared to most of these guys) so I could order anotehr one! lol

You're going to see Junior too. Junior doesn't know shit about cigars, but he knows how to operate the cash register and he knows that he's gonna get some from the girlfriend after work. Other than than, you're on your own. However, the owner/tobacconist should be there at least part of the time. Find out when (if at all). Its worth the effort. Some of these kinds of shops have long standing Fuente accounts. Let me know when you figure out what that means.

Samplers usually suck. There might be one or two good cigars in the mix and the rest are sub-par that the seller desperately wants to unload.
Looking at your sampler, I think they all suck.

Go to the newbie sampler thread.
 
I also endorse the Newbie Sampler thread. I did a great trade with StinkiMonki (who, by the way, is an outstanding gentleman) and he introduced me to several brands I never knew existed which are now among my favorites.
 
I just don't understand it. Isn't N. Dakota the cultural center of the universe, or was that Oklahoma?

I also bought a sampler online and got this:

Sadly, there were four unbanded cigars, two of them campanas, which were nice, the others sucked - I guess I will never know what they were now.

The Oliva Serie G Toro Tubo was like a lite cigarette... it wasn't very good; I actually gave the two I had left to an acquaintance that expressed an interest.

The Rocky Patel Indian (all eight of them) are still sitting in my humidor... together with a Macadoodo that came free when my wife bought me an ashtray and cutter online for xmas. It has an American flag on the band, and reads 'Salute to the troops!"... but no brand name or nothing. They must be really horrible if they won't even put their names on it.

I just got in on the noob sampler trade... and I'm wondering now, how long am I a noob and how many times can i get on that ride? I may just ask the question on the forum!
