I've been busy, but I'm back for the update. I cut off the cap, tested the draw, toasted the foot, and gave it a few puffs; I was greeted to light sweetness my first couple of draws. The sweetness was not long lasted, but was followed by a light ,but crisp spice on the lips and tongue. After the first third I had nothing but a leathery taste in my mouth with a much more bold hint of spice which faded and re-surfaced with each draw. The cigar started out burning very even until the first third, then for no reason went out of control. I countered this problem by applying saliva to the wrapper where the burning was faster, this worked perfectly. The Padron finished out very one-dimensional, and left a very strong taste in my mouth of what I recall as nicotine from my experiences with cigarettes. This could be from chewing on the cigar throughout the smoke. Well that's it for the Padron 5000. I don't see this becoming my go to, but don't let that keep you from enjoying them.
I'd appreciate all recommendation on what to try next. I would like a somewhat sweeter cigar that is quite smooth and creamy with a much mellower aftertaste.
