They don't. Green Label was never discontinued, they just stopped selling it in the US for a few years. You still could buy it in the far east and Europe.

Yup, everything I've read online says they're exactly the same. I'll sample a dram sometime in the next few days and let all know.
 
I’ve not been sampling long, or extensively, but I’m pretty sure my preferences lean toward Speyside and Highland bottles.
