Need Advice on wireless

Just a note of caution. I had that d-link setup, it lasted 11 months then the access point just died one day. I found out this is a common problem with them through research. Replaced it with a Linksys wrt54g and have had much better luck.
Strictly MHO though.

Good luck with the setup.

Odd, I went D-Link because my Netgear one mysteriously died in aout that same amount of (all of the hardware crapped out within days of each other), and found that to be common of the Netgear hardware I had :p I've been using the D-Link for a lot longer with hardly any problems (rarely have to reset the router).

I initially went Netgear because they started releasing really horrible firmware upgrades that completely ruind my netwoork connections (and nearly everyone at the time that was also using them), and it actually got worse after Cisco bought them out. I've also found that Linksys still doen't play well with others even to this day (I can't get any connection at my friend's house, and am lucky to get a slow connection anytime I'm on my brother's network or the one I use at work - all Linksys routers)

I think the key is using all the same stuff on your network, far less problems that way.

Each company has their own problems with equipment and it has been my sole descretion that its the device itself and not the company or device line that is faulty. I have set-up numerous networks using D-Link, Netgear, Linksys, and Hawking. I have run into good and bad devices but yet have I seen a trend in any one brand or company.

I have had much better luck with Linksys myself. The DLink equipment I have used in the past always seemd to give me trouble.

Good luck with your wireless. It looks like you have gotten plenty of good advice here.
