So here I am with 2 $30 iTunes cards looking to download some good tunes, but I can't think of a damned thing to get.

Mostly because I'm out of touch on the new music over there.

Need some help. Throw out some favorite tunes that I can't think of. What are some MUST HAVE tunes! I listen to any and everything, so go nuts.

Thanks for the help

Ramones, Zappa, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Elvis (Presley &Costello), Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Reverend Horton Heat, Albert Collins, Albert King, Beatles, Beach Boys, Brian Setzer, Carl Perkins, CHUCK BERRY, The Clovers, The Coasters, Eddie Cochran, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Gene Vincent, George Jones, Hank Williams Sr., Howlin' Wolf, James Brown, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, Johnny Burnette Trio, The Kinks, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles, Robert Gordon, Steely Dan, The Who, ZZ Top...

I don't care for new stuff.
Good luck finding any of these artists on iTunes .;)

You don't have to say you love me, just be close at hand.
You don't have to stay forever, I will understand.

That's right, I'm a Dusty fan. Got a problem with that?

The current most played album on my iPod is Hot Fuss from The Killers. If you want something a little different, try The Libertines and their self titled album. Great tunes with just the right blend or rock, punk, and pop.

My top ten most played tunes on the iPod:

Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing
The Replacements - Can't Hardly Wait
The Clash - London Calling
Rage Against the Machine - Renegades of Funk
Danzig - Mother
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
The Clash - Rudy Can't Fail
Johnny Cash - I Walk the Line
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - There She Goes My Beautiful World
Lo-Fidelity All Stars - Black Flag

Ok, finished downloading for tonight...here's what I grabbed

Daniel Powter – Bad Day
Ramones – Sheena Is a Punk Rocker
Goldfinger – Mable
Goldfinger – Miles Away
Sly and the Family Stone – If You Want Me to Stay
Bad Religion – New America
Danzig – Mother
Death Cab For Cutie – Soul Meets Body
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dani California
Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars

Great stuff, thanks for the help. I'll be referring to this throughout the week if anyone thinks of some more goodies.

Rammstein - Feuerfrei!

Jethro Tull - Locomotive Breath

Rush - Necromancer

Uriah Heep - Lady in Black

Judas Priest - Diamonds and Rust

Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine

Blue Öyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper

Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

Ozzy Ozzborne - Crazy Train

Guns and Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

You folks need to get beyond the music of your youth. Few people do. Make the effort it can be rewarding. There's so much more out there besides what was produced in your teens and twenty's.

I always found it interesting that most often, when I run into folks I went to high school with, they STILL listened to the same "stuff" we did back in the 70's. Have to agree; there is so much great new stuff....

Doc,
I understand but disagree. I can't stand much (if anything) that is coming out nowadays. Pop pablum and vapid lyrics/riffs do nothing for me nowadays. I guess I'm a lot like the rest of those who like the "old stuff" lately. The new stuff just isn't cutting it for me, but hey its all subjective! ;)

I listen to lots of new bands... both American and German bands.

Wyatt however asked for favorites and since hes a young guy I thought I should list some good older tunes (other than Rammstein of course)

I have an iPod but hate iTunes. If I legally buy music, I want to be able to use it how ever I want. With that in mind, and taking into account what Doc said, you should try some small band music. I like to listen to local bands and then go see a show. I make up for the fact that they give me thier music by paying for a show. Granted the seeing a show thing won't really work out for you know ;) , but you get the idea.

Anyway, check out some good underground, local, and smaller band stuff here. Did I mention that the music is free (as in beer)

I didn't mean music from some one elses youth. :sign: I meant serious music. Jazz, classical, Afro Cuban, Brazillian. etc.
