Hey guys!! I need some Information that I am sure some of you could provide for me. I am getting married July 25th of this year. Thus It is time to get thinking about the open bar!! Now, my budget right now for only the alcohol alone (not the service) is about 500 to 700 bucks. Wine and beer is probably what most people are going to be consuming. The wedding will have 250 people. Any good liquor line up suggestion, around this price range? Just throw out some ideas.

Much appreciated.

PS. Johnnie walker Blue is not part of the 500 to 700 bucks. That is extra that I am only serving to the people in the wedding party.

Michelle is currently planning our wedding out so I'll be very interested in seeing what folks responses here are.

$5-700 for 250 people? I don't think $3 a head is going to be enough. JMHO though.

I was thinking the same thing. I can give you some rough examples of case prices on certain things. Scotch if you go with 1.75 bottles will run you about 180 dollars give or take. For vodka if you were to go with Absolute 1.75 it would cost you roughly the same as the scotch. So right there is a good chunk of your budget and that was only the scotch and vodka.

Case Price roughly for 1.75l

Johnny Red -$180
Absolute- $180
Svedka- $120
Jack Daniels- $225
Barcardi- $115
Jose Cuervo- $160

Again this is for 1.75L bottles I dont even know if this is the route you want to go but those are ballpark figures to help you figure things out for now. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your responds guys. I forgot to mention that I will be getting anything at whole sale prices. The person I hired to do our catering, said he could get just about anything (within legal bounds) at whole sale prices.

Here is what I was thinking

If I got a just beer and wine thing going. I know I am going to need to buy more cases and wine. But if I brought some liquor in the equation, there would be less need for beer and wine. If we were to run out then we run out. I much rather be under than over. Although I do not mind coming back home to about 10 cases of left over beer lol

We offered wine and beer, then had a cash bar for everything else.
