OK, This is whats I would like to do.

How can I get the internet signal from my wireless access card (NOVATEL USB 727 3g)

To my LAN port to run a wireless modem, or cross over cable to my PS3.

I have tried to do an adhock, no luck
Can not bridge the connection (dial-up too LAN hummm no)
have tried to use ICS but hos computer and net single are the same.

even tried (netsh bridge show adapter) in hopes of making USB dial-up make a bridge with LAN
But nothing comes up.

There has to be a way to get this done, WHO is the MAN?

any help would be great.

and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

It seems like this may work for you. I havent tried it so I cannot verify if it works.

The 3G card may introduce Lag so be forewarned.

This I have tried, It just will not work. The net signal is not getting to my LAN port.

That is what I need to accomplish.

The dial-up VZAccess USB727 Modem is a one way device. I need to back feed the signal I receive to my LAN port in order to use a crossover cable to PS3,

Or do I nee just a regular ethernet cable?

EDIT: IP address timed out. error message from PS3.

The VZA card being dial-up does not have a set IP address.

I tried this LINK and no luck.

Can I go into cmd, with NETSH and re-rout a net signal from USB port to ethernet port?

It is my experience that Crossover cables are meant for direct connection between two computers/ machines, and a Ethernet cable is used to connect many machines to the same median. I think you are correct in using the Crossover cable to re-route the internet signal.

Not to mention....don't PS3's already have built in wireless!? If your card on the laptop can pickup the signal, shouldn't your PS3 be able to?

I can pick up plenty of WIFI, its all over the place and LOCKED. As for the WIFI card I have its one way, Verizon service. There is a Router I can buy for like 170 that will let me plug and play, but I really feel like I should be able to rig my lap top to reroute the signal.

I did get the updates needed. I downloaded them and used the USB memory stick.

1. Get a CAT5 or CAT6 crossover cable. The cable that came with the PS3 is a normal Ethernet cable, therefore it cannot be used for this operation.

2. Make sure you have two sources for network communication. For example, you can have 2 ethernet ports on your computer, or you can have a wireless card and a Ethernet port etc. It helps to draw out a connection blueprint such as this:

DSL Modem > CAT5 cable > Network Card 1 > Computer > Network Card 2 > CAT5 Crossover cable > PS3

3. Connect your computer to the modem and verify that you have an Internet connection. Then, click on Start, go to settings, control panel. Double click on Network Connections, and identify the connection to your modem (Network card 1).

4. Right click on the modem connection, and choose properties. Next, click on the advanced tab (Sharing tab for Vista users), and check the “allow other users to connect…” checkbox. After the checkbox is checked, click on the “Home networking connection” drop down box and select the name of the second network connection. Click OK and exit the properties window.

5. Finally, connect the CAT5 crossover cable from the second network adapter of the computer to the PS3, and voila, your Internet connection is now routed to your PS3. Please be aware that your computer must be on in order for your PS3 to stay online. In the long run, a router may be a much better device to use than your computer, since it consumes only a fraction of the electricity than your computer does.

maybe try that if you haven't already
