I wanted to introduce myself, say hello and share a little about my journey so far! I look foward to participating in the forum.
I recently just started smoking cigars again late last year. I was previously a rare occurrence smoker. I still consider myself an occasional smoker. Here is the small beginnings of my collection. Liga Privada 9, Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Maduro, Ashton VSG, Eiroa Dark (original blend), My Father Blue, My Father Le Bijou 1922, Padron 1964 maduro, Ashton Cabinet, La Aroma De Cuba Noblesse and Plascensicia Alma Del Campo. I have not tried any of these except the Eiroa Dark, which is one of my favorites!
Others I have tried within the last year that I have really enjoyed are the Eiroa CBT (triple) Maduro (My go to favorite so far), Plascensicia Reserva Original (another go to), Ashton Aged Maduro and God of Fire Serie B. The first Ashton Aged Maduro I tried was the #56 and it blew me away, maybe my new favorite. I just tried it again in the #10 and was very disappointed. I've tried some others but don't remember what they were and I didn't note them down.
I keep my new collection in a Rubbermaid Brilliance 9.6 cup tuperdore with a 60G 65% Boveda pack. I don't drink alcohol so trying any pairings with that is out. Coffee is something I have tried and it was pleasant for sure. My favorite pairing is Ceremonial Cacao drinking chocolate, which is very very different than regular hot chocolate!! Ceremonial grade cacao is pure unrefined cacao. It comes in many different varieties and much like cigars the country of origin and the way it is grown, harvested, roasted, fermented and prepared give it very complex and unique flavors and notes. I will make a post just for this subject as I have not heard of anyone else exploring this pairing and it is absolutely amazing, especially if you like chocolate notes in your cigars.
