New Glasses

Well, thanks to this forum and AVB, I'm drinking less, but better booze and enjoying it more. So a couple days ago I decided it was time to upgrade my whisky glass, and got some of these:

I picked up bottle of Laphroaig 15yr to break them in. I can't wait. Any one else have a glass preference?

My problem in life is the mrs', she breaks things with the best of them. My prized coffee mug, that was given to me from my last assignment in a flying squadron has a chip in it. She crazy glued it and it's three years afterward and I'm still miffed. Same with some beautiful champange flutes I got in Bulgaria that wer hand made and now we only have three. :angry:

So congrats and enjoy them. That AVB has a way of getting hooked on the good stuff doesn't he? :whistling:

I use these two almost exclusively, although sometimes a nice heavy lowball glass is nice..

Meh. Had it, its okay, they sell it right down the street. Just doesn't have that home made feel to it. Plus 80 proof, doesn't get the girlies nakkie fast enough. I am still catching shit for a pool party two years ago. Not that I minded a bunch of gals running around topless and sloshed outta their gourd. Its always my fault, and I claim full responsibility for being totally irresponsible.

The trick.

Take two iced tea jugs (the ones with the spout) one pink and one blue. Tell everyone the pink is lower proof for the girls and the blue for the guys, much higher proof. Girls being as they are in a crowd, feel the competition, all it takes is for one gal to say she wants the blue jug and they all do. Next thing ya know they're naked. Works all the time. Mostly with the younger crowd.

Yep, especially with kids running around here. Maybe I should start using glass ones again. My son likes to pick up these cups thinking it's a regular drink :laugh:

Doc, those are really beautiful. May I ask if you got them somewhere on line, or were they a local purchase?

My wife, who I love dearly, is a bit of a klutz when it comes to glassware. We have some very nice stemware which I personally take out of the china cabinet and wash, dry and return promptly after use. I usually restrict her to containers made from non-ferrous metals..... :laugh:
