Happy to be a member of cp.com community and i would like to say hello. i have a few questions. i am a relitivly new smoker and i would like to start a collection of different cigars. i see most of the passes have different cigars to start off. would it be a bad idea to start of with a set of the same cigars? i was thinkin about picking up a box of Sancho panzas and see how we go from there. and would it be a bad idea for people to post what theyre going to put into the box as well? because i would really like everyone to take the panzas to have my collection grow in variety. just seeing what u guys think. take care

It's been discussed and/or tried in the past and it usually doesn't get much interest.

It sounds like you really should do a "Newbie Sampler Trade" in the Buy/Sell/Group Purchases forum.

This way you get a nice variety of cigars to sample which it looks like that's what your goal is.

Howdy Ricky and welcome to CP from Sunny Central Florida. CC is correct and you might want to visit the devil (www.cigarbid.com) but be care full. They do have a lot of deals on 5 packs and samplers. Also, JR's has a lot of 5ers for sale as well as other online cigar sites. Don't worry, once your here for a while, you'll have a great variety of cigars and you better check out how to make a cooledor as well....... :D  :p

Welcome to CP. As stated, single brand passes don't work too well unless you have something unusual to start off with.

Welcome, that is essentially what the Newbie trade thread is. Check it out and you will see, you start out with all one thing for the FOG and "voila" you get a selection of stuff back without having to go through all those other folks.

More information in your profile would be good too.

Welcome to CP. I would recomend the newbie trade. I would also recomend updating you profile and including you address you never know what will show up at you home.

Howdy!!! From personal experience the newbie sampler is the best way to get a variety of sticks to try. The guys doing the trade are honest and more than fair when giving a selection to try.

The newbie sampler trade is located in the buy/sell/trade part of the forum. Hope that helps, also if you need any more help don't be afraid to ask.

Hey Ricky. Welcome to CP.

CC is correct about the Sancho pass. You would probably not get much interest. You could always try to trade some of them in the Trade forum, though.

As has been mentioned above, a Newbie Trade is one of the better ways to get started on a good collection of various high-quality smokes. If you know what type of cigars you enjoy, a sampler from one of the on-line sellers (CBid, et al) is also an okay method. On the other hand, if you're still new enough to not yet know what your cigar preferences are, and you have a high-quality shop near your home, they can be a great resource as well. Ask for a recommendation on 2-3 cigars and smoke 'em. Go back to the store and let them know what you liked and what you didn't, and why and ask for suggestions based on your preferences. This should help you narrow down the stick selection to match your tastes. Once you've homed in on what fits your tastes, just go from there. It really is a terrific journey and learning experience.

Above all, just have fun and enjoy!

Another vote for the newbie sampler trade.

And another vote for cigarbid.com. They usually have quite a few samplers there for a good deal. I picked up the Masterpiece Sampler and the Deal Closer sampler and both had some really good sticks to try.

And another vote for Welcome.

Welcome to cp lots of fun and knowledge to be had here. Definetly check out the newbie sampler trade you will not be dissapointed. Enjoy your stay.
