I got this link the other day and for the life of me cannot figure what you would hunt with this beast. I think it probably has more a military application than anything else.

AA-12 Shotgun

**edit to add - The email I got it from called it the "latest Hunting Weapon". It looks purely military to me.

This is from the Future Weapons (I think thats what its called) on the Discovery Channel. Everything on it is military based weapons to aid in new combat situations. Its a rather interesting show.

I believe it's primary use was miltary. There is a small application for dangerous game hunting of the worlds "super creatures", such as the flying squirrel and electric eel.

This is a sick weapon. My personal approach is to get some of those "grenade" rounds that shoot to 170 meters and find me some bullfrogs. :whistling:

Sent the video to my brother (arty f/o Nam '68) the other day, his comment:

"Beats the hell out of the M79 we had. Got to love it"

As cool as that shotty is...

as a former M79 gunner I have to say... no fugging way! The M79 was the hammer of the gods.

THUMP!

Yes the gun was designed for military/law enforcement use. Though nobody has really started to use it yet. Most PD's still prefer a modified pump, and the millitary seems to be happy with their beretta's (or Benneli's??? Can't remember which it is). I am wondering if this gun is going to catch on or not, because it has been around for quite a while. Though for a civilian to get it said civilian would have to acquire a class III weapons permit. Those are very expensive, and not very easy to obtain.

Why does he always whisper?

    HAHAHAH!!! Because he was a f**kin' SEAL and he's crazy hard-core about EVERYTHING!!! ROFL, that guy makes me laugh so much... If it was a spring assisted knife that played "Eye of the Tiger" when you flipped it open, he'd be just as frickin' INTENSE!!!!

Reference the weapon itself, it looks prety bitchin'. I've been wondering when they were going to come out with this. The only issue I'm seeing, as he says, your throwing 300+ rounds of lead at a target per minute. That cycle isn't TOO fast, but with the energy that just one of these cartridges make, it's also going to screw with your shot placement. Not ot mention if you're shooting slug rounds...

As an active shooter with practical experience, IMHO, it's nice to throw lead down range, but if you're only as accurate as a 90 year old lady with cataracts because you can't handle recoil, you're just makin' your weapon's barrel dirty.

IMHO, shooting a fully automatic weapon ACCURATELY isn't as simple as "Rainbow Six Las Vegas" the video game makes it. They have you expelling a FULL magazine into a bad guy's 10 ring and barely dealing with recoil... I don't know that I'd want an automatic shotgun going apesh*t on me when I'm in a firefight. Just my .02 cents...

But oh man....those poor turkeys this Thanksgiving!!! :D

Ooooooooo baby........I got a chubby when I watched that show a few weeks ago!

It would be great for crowd control at a Hillary Clinton rally ;)

Hehe, "chubby."

"Newly Developed Automatic Shotgun, it'll spur those crowds to pieces! Try em' at your latest Hillary Clinton rally, get an extra 30% off on a group buy!!"

We should start a thread for a group buy, maybe we'll get a discount.
