New Padrón blend in the works

Is it true that Padron sales are down significantly? That's too bad. They're definitely my favorite. Guess I need to buy more. ;)

I'd doubt their sales are down too much... the 1964 and 1926 lines are still fairly sought after.

I wonder if the new cigar has any Mexican tobacco in it. :whistling:

<threadjack on> That reminds me, I sat next to a person recently who claimed to be an active member of the cigar industry, adn an employee of one of the largest companies therein, while I was smoking a padorn 40th Anni. He commented that he knew something about my cigar I did not...that it was partially made up of Mexican tobacco (and hence not a Nicaraguan Puro), the wrapper, IIRC....now, doesn't Padorn pride itseld on growing all of its own wrapper?
Someone please let me know if I'm wrong. Sorry for the threadjack <threadjack off>

One thing I've learned after more then a few years in the business world is you can always trust a competitor's word as the gospel's truth ;)

LOL! I didn't believe him, to be honest, just felt it was pointless to argue with some dude sitting at a cigar bar wireless surfing on-line dating sites.
So I take it that you believe there to be no truth to his statements?

Not yet. It's in cello, though, which is interesting... I'll take a pic later.

You're leaving me on edge here.... but I think you know that don't you! :sign:

Interesting. The person who gave me the cigar said that Jorge insisted it was a new blend... which would make sense, why make a cigar this size in the 1964 line when the line is already quite full, and the Principe is damn near the same thing.

Correct. It's about as likely as the oft reported non puros being produced in Havana.

Interesting to say the least, I’m more intrigued at the fact that it was in cello, I didn’t know they did that for samples of pre productions...

The Padrons need a Lance or a Corona Especiale, their only pig tailed cigar is that rough looking fuma.

I think they boycott this size because Castro use to smoke them and he is person that took away the Padron's land in Cuba.

Prototype Padrón:

Hires version

All I know is that this is a prototype Padron that's 1/2" shorter (but fatter in ring) than a Principe... (it's supposed to be different from the 1964 line)

The other odd thing is that the other prototype Padróns that I have aren't box pressed... maybe it was done for these because they were formally given out at an event at a smoke shop.

anyway, I dunno if I'm going to smoke it or not. ???
