I hope my first post, other than answering the welcomes from a lot of members, is within forum rules.
I'm 78, live in Phoenix , an experienced woodworker and only a short time cigar smoker. I know one can buy cabinet humidors but I have been considering building one even though it may be more expensive than purchasing a similar one. At my age I need something to do!

Below in BOLD is my rudimentary initial thoughts on specifications for the DIY build.

I am confident qI can build the woodworking cabinet but am a complete novice when it comes to the cooling

Width 2.5feet
Height 4 feet
Depth 2 feet
Use ¾ baltic birch for sides bottom, back and top of the inner cabinet.

hidden lockable wheels behind plinth legs

inside box baltic birch seal with silicone and hvac silver tape corners for air leaks
Baltic birch sheets are ¾ 1 full at 4x8 2 cut 1 on half at 24 in 1 at 5x5 cut at 30 in.
Outside Cabinet cherry, alder mahogany built with raised panel and face frame for 2 door with upper glass and wood small lower panels

hold 300 to 500 cigars

Interior 4/4 Spanish cedar resawed to ⅜ planks joined and make panels

chimney in back for air flow

Door seals use automotive bulb, refrigerator or magnetic?

Seal baltic birch with dewaxed shellac
.
2 dual pane low e glass doors with 2 panels each with a very tight seal of perimeter and astragal to cover overlap.

Add a low RPM fan with possibly a pwm controller

Shelves ¼ Spanish cedar slat slatted keep 2 in from back to provide chimney effect for humidity. No trays.
Shelf structure ¾ Spanish cedar
Use things divider strips from Amazon to separate cigars

Marine grade finish on interior baltic birch and inside of outer cabinet?

Trays to get engraved tags

Shelves to hold bundles and loose cigars, no boxes. All shelves are Spanish cedar

no interior drawers build an accessory draw on top not covered by the door
.
piano hinges to ensure a tight seal.
4 peltier cooling units
Low heat led lighting ⁷use govee and motion sensors

3 govee humidity sensors

Humidifier from cigar oasis magna 3 sketch placement

Show ne a cooling ready design if i need it later

6 shelves

Wiring
120 volt and 12 v

Test for air leaks using dollar bill
Also dark room with bright light inside

The first picture ,with the help of AI and youtube, is my design of the cabinet, I would appreciate any comments, deletions, or additions on the design.

The second picture again with the help of AI and a lot of youtube videos, is my design of the cooling system using Peltier, I am a complete novice when it comes to humidor cooling systems and this design is my first shot at using one, I also considered using a compressor based system but opted not to do that since research advised against it,

Hopefully there are some Peltier experts here that can enlighten me with modifications to my cooling system design, or perhaps there are other options to consider.
