Hey guys/gals - a newbie to the world of Cigar Pass. I am just getting my feet wet so please be easy on me :)

I live and work on LI and have been into smokes for about three years, but just got VERY into them over the last few months. It took about three years to actually learn about cigars and to figure out what brands/types I like and don't like. After some trial and error - read lots of and errors - my favroite sticks include: anything by Rocky Patel but especially Edge, Vintage and Sun Grown, La Gloria Cubana Wavella, Trinidad TTT, CEO Brazil and Gold, R & J Reserva and Belinda Black

I am going to poke around for awhile and when I get a bit familiar with how this place operates I am hoping to jump into a Cigar Pass and test the waters.

Great to be here ;)

Welcome from Michigan, water is always good here at CP. Make sure to read all the great threads for us newbies, invaluable info in them.

Welcome to CP from PA. There are a few NY members you'll run into here.

AVB - my prayers have been answered. I personally am not a Scotch guy, wine is my poison of choice. That being said, my father-in-law LOVES Scotch but doesn't like to spend the $$$ , so I usually pick-up a bottle for him at Xmas time. He likes JW Black but I want to step him up a bit and get him a good, single malt in the $50 price range.

I'd appreciate any suggestions that you care to offer

Thanks

I usually don't return to these welcoming threads so if you need to ask me anything a PM or email will work much better. Anyway, you can move him up to the Johnnie Walker Green label for starters and see if he likes that. Aberlour sherry cask or Glendronach 12 would be good too but it is hard to beat a Balvenie DoubleWood for the price.

Greetings from New Jersey....but I get together for some really fine Herfs with a steady bunch of LI folks a few times a month - kind of in the center of the Island..... we'll let you know when the next one is on...we just met last Tuesday night... Tremendous smokes, celebrated an upcoming event with a 21 year Bushmill Irish Single Malt Whiskey and a few different Ports.... Always love the good times on The Island
