Newbie question: Maduro search...

Any Fuente and LGC and Padron. Do not forget about the ERDM robustos either.

I'm not a huge fan of the regular Padron line but the 858 is great and might I suggest the Torano Exodus '59 Gold. It isn't a maddie but has all the same charateristics.

Gurkha doble Maduro is probubly right up your ally.

Troya has some very Maduro smokes too.

Good suggestion there.

Also try the Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Maduro. I prefer the Toro and Petit Beli myself.

I love maddies and these are a couple of my favorites. The Doble Maduro is an excellent cigar, IMO. IT Super Fuerte is also very nice for the price point. Joe M. has a couple fo boxes of aged IT Super Fuertes in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum for under $45 IIRC.

Other good ones, IMO:

CAO Brazilia (as several BOTLs have already pointed out)
Torano Signature
LGC Reserva Figurados (the Felicitas especially)

Happy hunting!

Wow, great suggestions. My new go to is the Cusano 18 maddie, great cigar for around $4.00

Had a CAO Mx2 night before last that was incredible. I put them in the 5 buck range.

Good call!! Those are one of my favorites smokes.

Wow, I need to pick a couple of these and try them! I recently found the Sancho Panza Dbl Maduro and it became my favorite smoke. It was the first maduro I tried. It falls nicely in my price range. For some reason I shyed away from them when at the shops. I picked up the La Mancha and that bad boy was almost a two hour smoke! I am currently enjoying a Quixote as I type this, and its every bit as good so far!

I'm sure they are probably no match for some of the ones listed above but for a newbie like me I was very impressed. Especially for under $3.50 a stick!

I've been very pleasantly surprised by the Trilogy Ovation Maduros. A reasonably priced smoke with great flavor. I smoked one the other night that I had in the humi for a few weeks,...Very tasty!

Onyx Reverve, Chateau Fuente, and IT Super Fuerte - between those three, you'll get most of what you're looking for ;)

Yes I'll 2nd the Torano Signature, I forgot about that one! GREAT smoke for around 5 or 6 dollars. Really nice, smooth cocoa/dark chocolate flavor to them.

Serie R and Reserva Figurados to name a couple.

buy a box of the tiny ones and let them sit for 6 months... :whistling:  I can't wait for a year or two worth of sleeping!

The Flor De Oliva Grand Maduro is exactly the taste profile you like and a bundle is in $55 range.

Sanch Panza double maduro
AF Chateau Fuente maduro is sweet
Partagas black lable is similar
La Rosa maduro's are nice and cheap.
Oliva O Maduro are excellent cigars
CAO Maduro or MX2 is sweet as mentioned already.
El Rey De Mundo makes a great maduro
The Edge Maduro
Indian Tabac super fuerte maduro
RP Vintage 1990 is my second favorite maduro next to the Oliva O series in that particular price range.

Has anyone had any experience with the Cedar Fresh brand? It's a maduro corona made in Nestor Placensia's factory. Cigars International's weekly deal is a bundle of 20 for $19.95. Worth it?

Hi,
The Fuente 858 maduro is very good for the price.

I also like the Punch Rare Corojo....not a maduro but very rich (to my taste)!

Happy Smokin'!

Gary

ERDM Flor de Llaneza Pyramid Maduro is on sale at JR's for $10 off a box, $169, 35 count to a box. At $5.20 a stick, this is one hell of a great smoke. Last week, they were shipping '04's out.

Look here

And I am not a JR's shill. If your B & M has em, great.

I have to agree with the El Rey del Mundo with the maduro or oscuro wrapper. They are so darn yummy!

Im in love with Oliva Grand Maduro Belicosos, mmmmmmmmm so good! I also really like the Edge Torpedo Maduro. A nice very cheap maduro I like is the AF Curly Head.

Thank you all Gentlemen for the inputs... I will start trying out one brand after another in the list. And I have the list written down. This should take me at least a couple years just to try all of them. I think my adventure will be very fun... :D
